Khalis - starting a new chapter...

On this date - 5 December 2016 - my son, all grown up - will be starting a new chapter in his life. A life as a Uni student. Alhamdulillah, he has successfully admitted himself into KUIS, a place that he has been dreaming of. Before he can start with his Tahfiz course, he has to complete a 1 full year of arabic language course to be eligible for the Tahfiz course.

So here he is, my used to be small little baby, starting his new life. He has now 5 other roommates and will live with them for the next 1 year. Of course it comes with lots of fun and challenges, which I know he can handle them with good courage and confident.

And this is him, after 2 weeks on his own - looking good, all beam up with confidence and determination to learn the language of paradise and to have conversation with Allah.

Alhamdulillah - You are a gem that Allah sent to the family 18 years ago. Aay Allah continue his blessings on you my beloved son - Muhammad Khalis Eilmi.

and I decide to write again.....

Assalaamualaikum wr. wb.

Today I feel the urge to write again.
My last post was on 19 January 2014.
That was like 2 years and 7 months ago.

During this period, a few significant events were created:-

1. We had a baby girl on 8 June 2015- Nur Marissa Khayla (Yayah's first new born baby). And now she is 1 year and 2 months old.

2. We lost our beloved Ayahon 17 July 2015 (26 Ramadhan 1436H). He lost fighting against Dengue Shock Attack.

3. Waty failed in her relationship - she was officially single just after 2 months Ayah left us.

Above all, Mansor's family has become stronger than ever.

Alfatihah to Ayah Mansor Bin Kassim.

Nurhidayah Mansor....

She is the third sibling in the family.
And on 31st December 2013, she was 32...

that's how she is!!!! She has this attitude of "I don't care!". She would just be herself and behave the way she is and never bothers about others. One trait of hers that I highly admire.

She has more friends than any of us. She is likeable wherever she goes... maybe because she has never masked herself to be somebody else.

Just before she celebrated her 32nd birthday, she got engaged to the man that has finally captured her heart. And celebrating her 32nd birthday was significant in her life (I think) because that would be the last year of her celebrating as a single woman. By next year same day, in sha Allah, she would have become Mrs Erman... hehehehe

Being a small little monster in Mansor's family, she has grown very very big (literally too). I remembered when she was small, at the age of 3 to 6 years old, she was the cutest little creature of God's creation. With curly hair, fair and silky complexion, red lips perpetually, she was admired by almost everybody, especially strangers. Mak would have tough time bringing her to the market as even the aunties, the nyonyas, the uncles and the ah peks would stop by and greeted her. And she being very friendly and playful would always greeted them back cheekily.

There was this one time when my 2nd sister is celebrating her 6th birthday. So Ayah bought a small birthday cake for a very decent celebration (its a tradition in the family to celebrate each other's birthday even with the smallest cake). Ayah lit the candle and we all sang happy birthday. Then when it's time to blowing the candles, it was Yayah who blew all the candles. I could remember how my second sister's eyes were tearing for not able to blow the candles, what more, it was her birthday afterall.... that was why Yayah is popularly known as the "MAIMUK", among our late grandma and grandpa. Everytime when we visited them, the first thing that came out from our grandparents' mouths would be.... eh, eh, maimuk dah sampai... hahahaha how I missed them both... Alfatihah to both of them...

This year, there is going to be another celebration and its a finale. My lil sister, who is not so little anymore, in fact bigger and taller than me, is going to end her singlehood. She is soon entering "The Married Women's Club".  Can't wait for the event to happen and can't wait to see the Mansor's Family Expansion.

Dear Sister, this wish may came in very late for you, nevertheless, I wish you happiness, wealth abundance and rahmah and barakah from Allah always. You know you are always in my heart and my soul forever. We have gone through so much together, through thick and thin and learnt many hardways of lives... but those have made us stronger as a person individually and stronger bond in sisterhood.

Love you deep deep......

6th November 2013...

This post came in one day late! It should be done yesterday, but overwhelmed with how things are going on in the office, thus it only appears today.

Why should this post come out yesterday rightfully and not today? Because it is my beloved sister's 35th birthday... got it???

She is 35 yesterday - Norazizie Mansor. She was born 35 years and 1 day ago, 6 years after I came into this world. She was a different breed altogether. Cranky, always crying when she was an infant. And we thought that would improve as she grew bigger, but we were so wrong!! She has the softest heart, easily touched and super bloody sensitive. Her tears would come out flowing profusely just by the bits of a 'sweet - adoiiii, budak ini!'. Mak had a tough time pacifying her almost every now and then.

To make things worst, she has the weirdest habit among all of us the siblings. She would pee in her pants - yes, literally... whenever mak or ayah gave her a scolding. There was once ayah was upset with her, but then remembered that she would pee in her pants, quickly put her in the toilet, then only started to scold her... hahaha, how funny that was. Another thing that I would remember about her was her craziness over tangling earrings. She just loved wearing them. She would cry and wail everytime mak went to market without buying her those tangling earrings. Eerie....

But those were more than 2 decades ago. Things changed when she was in her secondary school. She changed from the 'ugly duckling' into a pretty swan. She became the favourite among her friends. Teachers had no other words to describe her other than praises and how good she was in school.

She topped in her class almost every year and she went through her 'O' levels with flying colours. She became the center of attraction and was well-loved by almost everybody who knew her, even in an instance. Her confidence, her persistent to move forward, her courage to try out new things, really took her very very far. She had travelled half the world now and went to places where none of us would want to go or would have gone, ALONE!!

Now, happily married with 2 kids, a growing teenager and a naughty little rascal that we all love, she has turned out to be such a motherly person. She cooks well I must say, she bakes, she makes kuih, she feeds her family with her 2 bare hands, despite her daily busy schedule.

She has become a complete woman figure at the age of 35. All I want to say (which I hardly say, sorry my fault) I love you sis with all my heart. Even though we are always on different views and thoughts, we fight, we argue, we yell and scream at each other, I love you dearly! You will always be my confidante, my point of reference, my best friend and most important of all, my sister forever... nothing could ever come in between us! NOTHING!!!

Happy 35th Birthday, dear sis! May Allah provide you with barakah and rahmah abundance.
I know I still owe you a birthday gift (I am still scratching my head what to get for you), but don't fret, it will sure come, in sha Allah.

Just a last note, I couldn't believe that you are celebrating your 35th birthday... to me, you are still that little sister of mine, who loves to cry and be cranky...

Food Galore...

Hmmm, how do I start this posting??
I do not really fancy uploading pictures of food into facebook or instagram (i dont even have one).. however, for the sake of keeping memories of what I have baked, cooked, created, I have decided to overrule my own decision. Well, rules are meant to be broken someday right?? When is the best time, if not now...so that 1 day, when I scroll down this blog, I will remember those moments and the type of food that I made... does this make sense?

This is my specialty - rendang ayam!

red velvet cake
ayam goreng berempah... my children's favourite

I think this is Mac & Cheese
A must food during buka puasa - roti sardin goreng

Chocolate Chips anyone???

the grilled version of roti sardin

mee goreng mamak - but mamaemmy style

roasted chicken

Its been a long time...

I just realized how time flies super fast...

It was almost 10months ago since I last wrote in this blog... the usual thing... plenty of things have happened!

But the most crucial ones:-

1- My son has completed his PMR exams... now having cold sweat waiting for results (should be out in Nov-Dec, fuhhhh)

2- My lil sister got married on 1st June 2013... it was a memorable event! Families from everywhere came and got reunited once again. It didn't happen very often... probably in the average of 6 years once...hahaha

3- Had tough times with my ever growing gal. She is a big gal now, so I have to change my approach and talk and treat her like she is an adult... tough but now improving. I am no longer a mother to her. I am her friend!!! She gives opinion quite bluntly, but at least she is honest. Loving the relationship that is developing between us.

4- Work has been crazy, plenty of downs... but I am sure we will come stronger than ever, in sha Allah

5- Dad went for his cataract operations, Alhamdulillah... everything went well. And now he is able to see clearly...dang!!! hahahaaha... (he is sure going to kill me if he reads this, runnnnnnnnn!!!!)

6- Loving my life to the bits... plenty of things going on... and I know for sure, many more exciting things are on the way, Ya Allah, I am grateful for the overwhelming blessings you have showered us with... Alhamdulillah! Couldn't ask for more!!!

This Special day...

Today is the 29th day of the tenth month of 2013...

It is also the day, where 27 years ago, a small cute lil' girl was born into the family...
My lil sister, who is obviously not little anymore - came into our lives and have created enough havoc (relatively good and bad la).

So this posting is especially dedicated for her.

To you my beloved lil' sister, here is my wish (which I hope it is special enough for you)...

Happy 27th Birthday. May Allah continue to shower you with rezeki abundance, bless you with plenty of barakah and provide you with good health. Now that you will be celebrating it with the official Hubby for the first time, I wish you love and more great love to share with him.

Can we make a deal?? Instead of us giving you the birthday present, can you this round give us the birthday gift??? We want many-many Irdawaty & Shahiran juniors please... can't wait to have babies in the family again.

Just to let you know (which I hardly share, I know) that my love for you has never been any lesser. You always have a special place in my heart! Remember those times, when you were still below 5years old, I dragged you to almost everywhere I went... you were so attached to me, that everywhere I went people thought that you were my daughter... hahaha, how funny!!!

I will try to upload those pictures of us going places, from restaurants to playgrounds to theme parks to museums and all those places of interests that I went with my friends to relatives houses for visiting or even to shops just downstairs. You were such a leech, but I love it though...

And now that you are all grown up, a wife to someone you love dearly, I wish you all the best in your future endeavours and adventures, especially in life of being a wife and career woman... it is going to be exciting and full of colours, I bet!

Take care lil' sister... enjoy the new life that you have embarked on, and I sincerely hope that one day when you decide to look back at our adventures, you will find nothing else but only sweet memories of us together which filled with plenty of love... my love for you dear sister.

Happy birthday again... may the journey that you started just months ago will bring joy and happiness ever after, till Jannah, In sha Allah!!!

Love you with all my heart...

And when the music plays....

Today is the day where JLo performs here... all the best!

Last nite was an awesome night... #HarimauMalaya beat Garuda 2-0. Well done boys! Every malaysian is so proud of you guys!

But TV3 celebrated the victory as though we have won the AFF Suzuki cup! Hey, slow down... this is just the beginning... now that we have moved on to semi final, let us put our support and prayers together and hope that #HarimauMalaya maintain their performance to go on to the Finals. The battle is just about to begin...

Another note, the supporters a.k.a Malaysians, please show your dedication and support undyingly, no matter whether #HarimauMalaya wins or loses. At the moment, when we lost, we were criticized, condemned and even Datuk K.Rajagobal's was almost being put at danger... some small portion of these 'uncivilized' supporters attacked his office because they were so unhappy when #HarimauMalaya lost to Singapore just a few days ago. Super emotional...

But when we won last night, the rest of the mistakes were immediately FORGIVEN! It seems that #HarimauMalaya has never let them down. They celebrated with no end. There were words of the highest praises, the team is the best, the most excellent performance shown, perfect combination best tactical moves ever, Datuk K.Rajagopal is the best coach ever, he is the best man on earth, yada yada yada yada.. and the music goes on.

I don't understand.

Can't we just be mediocre and not being too extreme? I mean, whether they win or lose, isn't it being our duty as Malaysians to be supportive and provide undivided support and love towards #HarimauMalaya. Can we give them the support without being biased and prejudiced? And can we show some real love towards them.....

I love #HarimauMalaya, whether they win or lose!

#HarimauMalaya - WE MADE IT TO THE SEMIs

Alhamdulillah, with Allah's grace and permission, WE WON!

We beat Indonesia 2-0, the best ever game played, thus far!
And Mahali Jasuli is the hero of the night, at least for me!
He helped the first score and scored the second.
And the rest played well. Defense was good and midfield was busy all the time.
Good game guys! Well done....

We are so proud of you all, #HarimauMalaya!!!

Hi December, Welcome on Board!!!

Today is December. The day started a bit rough...

Weather was good the whole day until at about 5pm when it started to rain.

The actual plan was to go to Metrojaya sale at Stadium Malawati Shah Alam. However, my laziness overwhelmed me today. Called my sister to cancel it. Yeah I know, she was dissappointed but I simply didn't want to go anywhere today.

Had early breakfast, 2 pieces of wholemeal bread and a cup of white coffee, alone.... yummy! Then, time to do the spring cleaning, change bedsheets and pillow covers, 2 rounds of laundry, vacumm the entire house - with the help of Khalis, of course. Done!

At almost 2pm, still lazy to even walk across the house to buy stuff for lunch. What's for lunch then? I checked my freezer and found - fishballs, crabsticks, meatballs, sausages, mixed vege, mozarella cheese and parmesan cheese. Checked my groceries storage box - found flour and yeast. PING!!! Gave me a fabulous idea. PIZZA!!!!

So, pizza it is for lunch. And some pretzel and some roti for the kids!!!! Awesome, satisfied and happy!

Pizza - uncooked version

bread stick and pretzel - uncooked version

Ready to be eaten - YUMMY!!!

the ready-to-belasah version

Ain - the satisfied and overfilled tummy look!

And now, lepakking infront of TV, watching LIVE game between Malaysia VS Indonesia, and as of now, we are leading 2 goalsssss.... YEAYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Continuation from previous post...

19th November 2012 :- the day when students on Standard/Primary 6 took their UPSR results. My sister's eldest daughter - Maizla Izma - was having cold sweat that morning as she would be receiving her result too.

Alhamdulillah, she scored 5As... something that was beyond our expectations... so smart my girl! Mama and aunties still owe you your gift... tunggu ok kakak! Well done, sayang!

25th November 2012 :- went to The Sungai Buloh Complex to look for tablet. Wow, we were amazed with the soo many brands and types of tablets and sooooo cheap tablets that you can choose from. My sisters and I wanted to buy one as a gift for kakak for her excellent achievement in UPSR. We went in and out of the so many shops in this complex. We have eyed for one already. Should be heading there again soon, to get it.

week of 26th November 2012 :- Never have been busier that this week. Had a back-to-back appointments. At the same time, we had an official company event, INTRADE 2012, international trade exhibition being held in Martrade. Alamak, I felt like splitting myself into 4 or 5 pieces at the same time. Now I have 2 proposals yet to be completed and a few other appointments to follow up. I should not be complaining though... probably that is part of rezeki Allah wants to give, Amiin.

And December is just a window away! Bye-bye November, welcome December!!!

Activities happened in the last 10 days of November 2012

Activity 2 :-

16th November 2012 - MIL was going back home on Friday morning, will be sent by hubby's nephew. So I started preparing breakfast as early as the night before - simmering 'daging korban' with tulangs and ekors... yummy!

By morning, the soup daging was ready. Boiled macaroni and made bagedil. So it became 'soup macaroni daging with bagedil'. Glad she liked the dish very much. Unfortunately there was no pictures taken to represent this. So you guys use your own imagination to visualize it, yeah.... phew, what a busy Friday!

Activity 3 :-

17th November 2012 - we decided to bring the kids out to visit Zoo Negara. I have a confession to make. I have been in Malaysia for almost 20 years now, but I have been into so many Zoos in Malaysia - Zoo Taiping, Zoo Melaka, Night Safari, but never Zoo Negara. It somehow gave me a creepy feeling everytime someone asked me to go to this place. The perception that I had lingering in mind is Dirty, Smelly, Ugly and all the negative thoughts.

So, on this auspicious day, I opened my heart big big to visit the Zoo, when my children are already at 14 and 10 years of age. Not quite relevant though, but yet we were all very excited.

Saturday morning, it was raining heavily in the morning and we almost cancelled off the trip to Zoo Negara. However, we made it and arrived there at almost 1pm. Rain stopped!

How wrong I was. The Zoo trip was wonderful, it was definitely educational and it definitely opened my eyes that Zoo Negara was not that bad after all. We went to the animal show and saw many animals that I didn't expect to see here. The arrangement of the placement of animals were also very well done. There were Savannah, Tiger Farm, Bee Farm, Bird's Farm and many others. I AM BLOODY IMPRESSED!
How I wish (at that spur of the moment) I have young children. I am very sure they will enjoy the sightseeing just as much as how we - the adults - have enjoyed it!
Here are some pictures for you to enjoy:-
Oooppsss, many other photos were in my hubby's phone. Probably when I have more time, I will then upload pictures from there.... till then, bye!

Activities happened on the last 10 days of November 2012

Activity 1 :-

15th November 2012 - on Awal Muharram's day, sent my car for service. Decided not to wait for the car. So hubby came along and we went home right after.

Lunch for that day was - roasted chicken with stir fried siew pak choy. DELICIOUS!
Received call from SIL that she wanted to pass MIL's new specky. We decided to meet them up at AEON Rawang after lunch and Zohor prayers. At the same time, hubby decided to go back to our resort home - Bandar Tasik Puteri.

On our way to AEON Rawang, which was just 3 minutes away from our house, I received a call from the service center that my car was ready for collection. However my car is still very ill.
- need to change the front brake pad
- need to change the rear brake pad
- need to change the rear wheel bearing
Aiyooooooo, the medicine is superrrrrr expensive.... (while this post is being typed, my car has yet to be sent for the major operations :-( )

So, left MIL with SIL at AEON, while off we went to collect my car and we arrived back at AEON almost about an hour later. By then, SIL & MIL had done their window shopping and time for us to go back to our resort home.

MIL and Khalis were with me in my car while Ain followed her baba. Upon reaching the house, I noticed I didnt have the house keys with me, so I decided to stop by the shop to buy some stuff for dinner. Almost reaching house, I was shocked to find hubby had stopped by the roadside. I pulled over, got down and only to find that his tyre went off.

And this was what we found in his rear left tyre.

Astaghfirullah.... what a day!!!

Baba and Khalis became uncertified mechanic on that day!

May Allah bless us on this Ma'al Hijrah day and continue his blessings for us and family... insyaAllah, Amiin!
